Bacchus Off The Long Run
Family commitments rule out extensive coverage of this particular match. Probably a good thing as it was one of those tiresome run sprees, and, as my mum always used to tell me, if you can’t say anything nice about a one day international, don’t say anything at all.
Oh, sure. Some people enjoy this kind of thing. But, I dunno. If Australia can match their highest ever total in WODIs and somehow still have it be a slightly disappointing effort, and India’s epic response of 369 can feel like a botched opportunity, the balance between bat and ball might be a smidgen mismatched.
Anyway, here’s the limerick:
I'd need to muster a great deal of thought
To work out what I like best about this grand sport
But what I like least?
That's a different beast:
An interminable, uninteresting batting onslaught
